The question is: control and provisioning of what? WTP alone? WTP with
some MAC functionality? WTP with full MAC functionality?
Which leads to how data is moved from the WTP to the AC. For example, is it encrypted or in the clear?
Lily's proposal is a reasonable one, for which the next steps would be clearer definition of the meaning of "Local MAC" and "Split MAC", and greater clarity on the objectives/parameters of the architecture and supporting protocol (e.g. what does the security solution protect us from, latency goals to support VoIP, deployment scenarios, etc).

Not sure who is confused... probably me...
My understanding was/is that IF we do re-charter for CAPWAP
protocol work, that it is then a NM protocol for "Control and Provisioning" and not any of the related stuff that moves the data from WTP to AC.
Is everybody in agreement with that understanding.
Thanks, Bert
